Mystery Reader

Today Mrs. Jacobson came in to be our mystery reader. She read the Principal from the Black Lagoon!

This week we are reviewing the 40 sight words we have learned so far. Today we played a sight word hunt game. I taped a sight word to everyone's back. They had to go around the room and write down the words that were taped one everyone's back. At the end they had to see if they could figure out their own word.

Reading to Preschoolers

Today Ms. Beth's class came in our room this morning. The kindergarteners got to read books to them, have a little snack and show them GoNoodle.

100th Day of School!

Today was the 100th day of school and we had a lot of fun!

We started our day with a big challenge, a 100 piece puzzle.

Then we had a special 100 day snack.

We made 100 day crowns.

We played Race to 100 with a partner.

When the kids were at lunch I hid 100 stickers around the room. We are still missing 2!

We are rock stars at counting by 10s, here are our scoops of 10.

And last we saw what we would look like when we are 100. They had a lot of laughs over this!

The Napping House

This week we read two stories that are great sequencing stories, One Dog Canoe and The Napping
House. We did some comparing and contrasting with the books and today we picked out our favorite, The Napping House. We built the characters and setting and tomorrow we are going to work on sequencing and retelling the story. Here are a few pictures of the beginning of our two day project.
