More work on Retelling:  We used 30 Hands app to write what happened at the beginning, middle and end.  

Retelling a Story

We are working on retelling a story this month and we have focused on Jan Brett's story, The Mitten.  We read this story a few times this month and have also acted the story out.  Our focus of retelling, is saying what happened in the beginning the middle and the end.  The video is of the red class acting out the mitten.

Non sense Words

I sent home a sheet recently that looked like this:

This is a non sense word sheet.  Your child should read the non sense and try to put the sounds together to make the non sense word.  You can do it in 1 minute intervals if you would like and have them try to beat their score each time.  Right now most students will have to say the sounds, eventually we want them to be able to read the words without sounding them out.  We will send new ones home periodically throughout the year.
